I just want to warn other pet owners to use caution when taking your animal to this VET. I took my dog Buster to get him checked out on Friday March 31, 2017 because he was attacked the day before by another dog. They took him back and shaved him and just gave him a couple of shots and some pills to take home because the doctor said some of his skin was dead and he would wait until MONDAY to perform surgery on him. Just this visit was a little over 300 dollars and after we took him buster started going downhill. We did everything we could to comfort him but he was in severe pain from Friday night until Monday morning when we took him back for surgery. It was a long hard weekend and I could not believe that the doctor would not have at the very least let us know that he would suffer and that the surgery would possibly not be successful. So we dropped him off on that Monday 4/03/2017. originally it was going to be a little over 300 to remove skin in surgery and we did receive a call letting us know that it was going to be around 475 which was fine. When we arrived that afternoon to pick him up the final total was a little over 600 which we were never told about until we checked out. Now don't get me wrong I would pay 2000 if it meant saving my dog and I didn't mind paying almost 1000 because I thought he was going to be fine after a couple of weeks and the vet that we spoke to never indicated that there was even a slight possibility that he would die. If I was to be honest when I seen him I could tell that he was in really bad shape when we left and the doctor told us she would see us Thursday 4/06/2017 to remove the bandages and like I said not at anytime did anyone make mention the suffering that Buster would ensue and the false hope that my daughter was given thinking that he would pull through. I would have thought that before the surgery the doctor would have explained that there was a good chance that he would not make it and I would have opted to have ended his suffering and the pain that it would cause my family especially my daughter that would sit up with him and try to take care of him. We called the vet on Tuesday to let them know that Buster seemed to be in a lot of pain and that he was not eating only to be told to bring him in on Wednesday if he had not eaten and they would give him an IV. Then on Wednesday morning at 430 Buster started panting like he was hot but and my daughter and I tried to give him water through a tube in his mouth but nothing seemed to help. I had to go to work at 630 and had a feeling that buster would never make it to the vet at 830 and I told my daughter to just pet him and talk to him and I told them both goodbye. Then before I could make it out of the driveway my daughter called me screaming " Buster is dieing Daddy and I ran in to see her holding him as his little body started to go limp and he was gasping for air, my little girl was screaming and crying and blowing in his nose trying to bring him back. I have never seen anything more heartbreaking than that and my daughter was heartbroken as was I. We put Busters body in a box and took him up to the Vet to let them know that he had died and while the girl did seem very upset we were told that we would have to pay 200 dollars to have him cremated which I couldn't believe after all there was never any concern that he would die. I do not blame the Vet that he died but I do blame them for not once saying that he would possibly die and it would have been more humane to put him down, instead it just seems like all they cared about was the money and not the 5 days of agony and suffering that buster would endure his last days on earth. The worst part is we never received a phone call or anything from the doctor asking apologizing or to give us their condolences. So please instead of giving people false hope please for the love of God let them know the chances if he will live or die because not only did BUSTER SUFFER SO DID MY FAMILY and we hope that the money is put to good use.
Great staff and Doctors. Highly recommend. Dr. Parker and Dr. Lewis took great care of my Charley when he was diagnosed with lymphoma.
